#55: My Top 10 Tips to Indulge Whilst Maintaining Balance These Holidays!
To wrap up the year, after dedicating all of December to helping you navigate the holidays - here are my top 10 tips to sum lots of it up and help you with your health and fitness these holidays so that you can indulge, relax and enjoy yourself - BUT not feel totally off track come the new year. Why not aim for weight maintenance and happy gut to begin the new year one step ahead and not 5 steps backwards?
Adapt the mindset that yes, it’s a holiday, but also the more you think of it as just everyday life, it will help you too. I like to do this
Try to eat as normal as you can for as many meals as you can (ie, when you have a chance to eat at home - make it a home cooked meal, extremely healthy, as you’ll be going out to eat so much!!)
Try to aim for just 1 indulgent meal per day
Incorporate daily movement or just movement as much as you can - walk with friends, surf or paddle board, book in some pilates classes, just build in whatever you enjoy
Be mindful. Exercise helps with this for sure, but make sure you take time out of your day for YOU to be still. It helps you remember why you want to not go OTT
Give yourself permission to eat more, don’t have a restriction mindset
Choose low calorie drinks (whole episode on this in episode 54)
Steer clear of your food sensitives
Eat before you go to an event if it’s picky things
If you know you have big lunches, dinners etc - make it a rule to not snack throughout the day too! Stick to your main meals
